Results Announcement of the Formality Examination of Applications for the Macao Science and Technology Awards

The application period for the Macao Science and Technology Award 2022 ended on February 18, with a total of 71 applications for the award received during the application period. In terms of award categories, 44 applications for the Natural Science Award, 15 applications for the Technological Invention Award and 12 applications of Science and Technology Progress Award were received; whereas 62 applications from universities, 4 from enterprises, 3 from hospitals and 2 from others were received, in terms of categories of the first major unit which completed the project.
The chairman of this year’s Award Judging Committee is Yang Wei, and its members include (in alphabetical order by surname): Joseph Sung Jao-Yiu, Hao Yue, Tsui Lap-Chee, Mei Hong, Huang Luqi, Yeung Tsun Man Eric, Yang Baofeng, Zhong Nanshan, Han Yingduo and Dai Qionghai. The preparatory meeting of the Award Judging Committee was held online on April 1, during which the details of this year’s applications were reported, the examination criteria were discussed, and the relevant examination process was determined.
According to the Regulations on Science and Technology Awards, the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) has conducted a formality examination of the information of application projects. Among the projects received, 69 projects has supplementary information to be submitted, and 2 projects have submitted application for cancellation, with a total of 69 projects passed the formality examination. Information about the projects is shown in the attachment.
Earlier, FDCT has classified the application projects according to their award categories and secondary disciplines, categorized them according to their disciplines and specialties, and matched the relevant materials with the national science and technology award expert database of the Ministry of Science and Technology. A total of 626 expert materials have been obtained from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 7 peer experts are being matched with each group to carry out the examination.
