Macao Funding Scheme for Key R&D Projects
Application Period : October 24th , 2022 to November 30th, 2022
In order to align with the policy guidelines of the Macao SAR government to promote the development of Macao’s industries and enhance Macao's role in scientific and technological innovation in the Greater Bay area, the Science and Technology Development Fund (hereinafter referred to as “FDCT”) has formulated the Macao Funding Scheme for Key R&D Projects in accordance with Articles 15 and 16 of the Financial Aid Grant Regulation as approved by the Dispatch of the Chief Executive No. 64/2021, with the aim of further integrating Macao’s science and technology resources, concentrating efforts to achieve interdisciplinary complementarity and integrated innovation. FDCT also strives to pursue achievements in scientific research with transformational conditions, on the basis of integration. The FDCT now issues the Application Guideline for Projects in 2021. Please organize the application according to the requirements of the Guideline.
(I). Direction of the Guideline
“Precision Medicine”, “Biomedical Materials”, “Optoelectronic Materials”, “Intelligent Robots”.
(II). Application requirements
(1) Applicants must be entities as stipulated in Paragraphs 1 to 4 of Article 2 of the Financial Aid Grant Regulationas approved by the Dispatch of the Chief Executive No. 64/2021.
(2) Leaders of projects and topics under the projects must be holders of a PhD degree or have a position rank of at least associate professor.
(3) Project leaders must be full-time employees of the applying entities, and must work at least 9 months per year at the applying entities. Topic leaders must be qualified to work full time in Macau.
(4) Experts involved in the formulation of the relevant Application Guideline must not be leaders or members of projects (or topics).
(5) The maximum application amount for each project is set by the Application Guideline, and the implementation period for each project shall not be more than 3 years.
(III). Assessment Procedures
(1) FDCT will assess the applications in accordance with the Financial Aid Grant Regulation as approved in the Dispatch of the Chief Executive No. 64/2021.
(2) Key considerations will be given to the followings during the assessment:
2.1 The content of the research;
2.2 Objectives Setting and technology roadmap;
2.3 Division of tasks and work schedules
2.4 R&D teams and work basis;
2.5 Expected Outcomes.
