FDCT Drives Synergy Across the Three Regions to Promote Industry–Academia–Research Collaboration and Technology Talent Development
07/11/2025
To align with the policy directions of the Macao SAR Government and implement the “1+4” moderately diversified development strategy, the Science and Technology Development Fund (hereinafter the “FDCT”) actively builds bridges between Macao’s universities, young people, and technology enterprises, promoting industry–academia–research collaboration, facilitating the transformation of scientific research achievements, and expanding development opportunities for technology talent. To this end, the FDCT, together with the Zhuhai Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (hereinafter the “Cooperation Zone”), jointly hosted today (the 7th) the “Macao–Hengqin–Zhuhai Industry–University–Research Matching Session cum Matching Event for Macao–Hengqin–Zhuhai Technology Talent Supply and Demand.” The event facilitated the signing of nine cooperation intention letters and offered 265 full-time and internship opportunities.

The “Macao–Hengqin–Zhuhai Industry–University–Research Matching Session” adopted a “demand/achievement collection – pre-event matching – on-site meetings – post-event mediation and follow-up” approach to promote industry–academia–research collaboration across the three regions. Through a bidirectional solicitation of Macao’s research outcomes and the needs of enterprises in Macao, Zhuhai, and the Cooperation Zone, the FDCT carried out preliminary matchmaking before the event and organized on-site meetings between research teams and enterprises during the event to facilitate in-depth exchanges, aiming to achieve precise matchmaking. After the event, technology brokers provided both parties with professional tech mediation and technology transfer services. The event showcased a total of 12 research outcomes from five Macao universities and held 59 meetings with 32 technology and innovation entities, resulting in the on-site signing of nine cooperation intention letters. During the event, relevant agencies from the three regions, including the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), were also invited to introduce participants to the investment environment and related policies in the three areas.

The “Matching Event for Macao–Hengqin–Zhuhai Technology Talent Supply and Demand” adopted a “talent demand collection – demand release – on-site event – post-event follow-up” approach to better assist technology talent in securing employment. In the preliminary stage, the organizer widely collected the talent needs of technology enterprises in Macao, Zhuhai, and the Cooperation Zone and published the job information on the event webpage. Interested applicants could register and submit their resumes in advance, then meet with the hiring organizations on-site during the event to achieve efficient employment matching. Enterprises from the three regions demonstrated strong demand for technology talent and enthusiastic participation. A total of 42 companies offered 136 positions, providing 265 full-time and internship opportunities. During the event, applicants gained a better understanding of industry development trends and career prospects through company presentations and face-to-face interactions with enterprises.
