Dos and don’ts of being outdoors after a typhoon

1. Do not go outside after a typhoon has just passed away, because after the heavy rain, some puddles, ditches and underpasses are flooded and pose hidden dangers.

2. Pay attention to weather report through various channels including TV, internet, mobile APP. Stay indoors until it is ensured that the typhoon moves away. Watch for falling debris when being outdoors.

3. If you find flooded areas or traffic congestion, please contact the police or fire station nearby.

4. Please contact the police or fire station when damages occur. Such data can be used to review the disaster, and provide a reference for improvement of disaster preparedness.

5. After a typhoon, call family members and friends, let them know you are safe.
