The Science and Technology Development Fund continues to deepen Macao’s science popularization efforts by motivating local high schools to introduce different science popularization projects to expand their students’ horizons. In 2020, the Fund subsidized 8 local high school students to attend a study tour to the Antarctic, allowing them to experience the special environment of the polar region. They also participated in scientific experiments and research projects conducted in the region, which improved their awareness of the special scientific values of the region and the importance of environmental protection.
