【Exchange Creates Business Opportunities】 Macao-Hengqin Enterprises Participate in Hong Kong InnoEX for the First Time

News from the Science and Technology Development Fund / Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center:
The 2024 Hong Kong InnoEX grandly opened on 13 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. To take part in the annual Asian event for science and technology innovation, for the first time, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center and the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) jointly organized a group with ten enterprises/universities that are based in Macao and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin to participate in the exhibition. They set up Macao’s exhibition area to showcase various innovative technology solutions and products, promoting the exchange between Macao, Hengqin and international enterprises in the field of technology, creating cooperative business opportunities.
This year, the theme of Macao’s exhibition area is “Industry Collaboration Promotes Diversity”, with Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin jointly serving as co-organizers. There are ten enterprises joining Macao’s exhibition area, with six of them having accredited by the Technology Enterprise Certification Programme of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT). They include: Macao e-Media Development Company Limited, Infomacro Information Technology Limited, Fnetlink Technology Company Limited, Master Equipment Co., Ltd., Vastcom Technology Limited, and Macau Digifluidic Biotech Limited. Moreover, there are companies from the In-Depth Cooperation Zone, including Wisewave (Zhuhai) Technology Company Limited, Zhuhai Amicro Semiconductor Company Limited, and True Health (Guangdong Hengqin) Medical Technology Company Limited. Macau University of Science and Technology also took part in the exhibition. On the opening day, the participating enterprises/universities demonstrated their latest project achievements and applications by providing technology research and on-site explanations, capturing the public’s attention and creating a lively atmosphere.
On the afternoon of the same day, the organizing team held the “Sharing Session: Innovation and Development in Macao and Hengqin” at the same venue. It was attended by Ray Chao, Interim Director of IPIM’s Investor Service Department, Li Jiamin, Supervisor of the Technology and Talent Division of the Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Yang Jun, Chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group (Macau) International Development Co., Ltd., as well as Liao Zhijun, Founder and CEO of Wisewave (Zhuhai) Technology Company Limited. They shared insights on the investment environment and business development in the fields of science and technology innovation respectively in Macao and the In-Depth Cooperation Zone. They actively interacted and exchanged ideas with the attendees, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere. In addition to the exhibition delegation, the organizers further arranged guest delegations as well as university faculty and student delegations to visit. This allowed visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the achievements and advantages of Macao and Hengqin’s innovation and technology development.
There were 13 countries and regions joining the InnoEX this year, and the exhibition ran from 13 to 16 April. In addition to the exhibition, the conference also included a series of meetings, thematic forums and seminars, inviting top-notch international talents engaging in innovation and technology as well as renowned scientists to share their important insights on cooperation opportunities and recent trends in technological innovation.
