【Promotion of “1+4” Industry-University-Research Collaboration】 “Scheme for Industry-University-Research Partnership for Enterprises” Seminar

        To accelerate the integration of industry, university and research, as well as stay in line with the “1+4” policy promoting moderate economic diversification, the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) organized two seminars in March this year. The seminars were held jointly with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Macau and the Macao Youth Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, aiming to further publicize the “Scheme for Industry-University-Research Partnership for Enterprises” to university scientific researchers, startups and entreprises.

        Industry-University-Research collaboration is one of the key drivers for innovation and economic development. Through the “Scheme for Industry-University-Research Partnership for Enterprises”, the FDCT aspires to bridge the gap between enterprises and universities, accelerate the combination of scientific research achievements and industrial applications, boslter further intergrated development in industry-university-research collaboration, as well as support the upgrading and transformation of enterprises. The matching service provides support to local companies in matching their technological needs with scientific research achievements from academic institutions. The FDCT partially subsidizes the R&D costs of enterprises who have been successfully matched and have met the eligible project requirements.

        Since its launch in July 2021, the “Online Industry-University-Research Matching Platform” has published a total of 64 technology demands and 304 scientifc research achievements. In addition, it has successfully matched 54 pairs, out of which 44 pairs have applied for funding.

        The two seminars attracted over a hundred participants, including university scientific researchers, representatives from startups and companies. During the meeting, the matching services of the program and the funding application process were introduced, providing the attendees with an understanding of the support provided by the FDCT in terms of enterprise R&D and industry-university-research collaboration. The participants actively raised questions about industry-university-research cooperation for enterprises, transformation of scientific research achievements, as well as funding applications, creating a lively atmosphere at the event.
