The Assessment Result of Joint Scientific Research Project Funding by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund

In 2019, the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) launched joint funding for research cooperation. The funding supported research projects jointly proposed by Mainland-Macao research candidates in the fields of Information Science, Traditional Chinese Medicine Research, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Biological Science, New Materials Science and Management Science (Public Administration and Public Policy). After the project submission, respective and joint assessment, both parties confirmed to fund 11 projects. Details of the findings are at Annex.
According to the Plan on launching the Jointly Funded Scientific Research Project of the Memorandum signed in January 2016, both parties would launch the Jointly Funding scheme annually. The application of 2019 Jointly Funded Scientific Research Project was accepted from 2nd January to 1st February. There were 56 projects accepted by both parties during the application period.
After both parties reviewed the applications and checked the results of the review, there were a total of 23 projects proposed by both parties for consideration at the joint review meeting. On 11th June, after these 23 projects were introduced, discussed and voted by 12 experts from both parties in the joint assessment conference, the joint funding list was confirmed.
